Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): An engineering student was cheated of ₹3 lakh by two people who promised him a job in the Indian Railways in Jabalpur.
He was given a false ID card and medical report and made him dress in a railway uniform to make it look real.
The incident took place in the Sanjeevani Nagar area. Police have arrested a woman and her male partner in the case.
According to information, the student was looking for a job when he met the accused. They told him they could get him a railway job and said some steps were required, like a medical test, training, and a uniform.
They asked him to pay ₹3 lakh for the process.
The accused then called him to a hotel and made him go through a fake medical test.
They gave him a false ID card and medical report and even dressed him in a railway uniform to make it look real. They told him his selection was confirmed.
The hotel was shown to the student as a railway guest house. The accused started giving him fake training there and later demanded ₹5 lakh in total. They also pressured him to quickly pay the remaining ₹2 lakh.
When the student started doubting them, he filed a complaint at Sanjeevani Nagar police station.
Police investigated and arrested both the woman and the man involved in the fraud.
