'Congress’s Bond with Ambedkar Is Like Fevicol,' Says PCC Chief Jitu Patwari During Samvidhan Satyagraha In Gwalior; Observes 6-Hour Fast |
Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh BJP marked the 50th anniversary of the Emergency as ‘Samvidhan Hatya Diwas.’ Meanwhile, the Congress staged a ‘Samvidhan Satyagraha’ in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior and observed a 6-hour fast to protest the delay in installing a statue of Dr BR Ambedkar.
The protest saw participation from several senior Congress leaders along with a large number of Dalit leaders.
From the stage, they fiercely criticised the BJP and the RSS, demanding immediate installation of the Ambedkar statue, which has been pending for months due to a legal dispute in the Gwalior bench of the High Court.
‘MP has become epicenter of atrocities’
Congress state president Jitu Patwari, speaking during the event, attacked the BJP stating, "The BJP is observing Black Day to hide its sins. Madhya Pradesh has become the epicenter of atrocities against Dalits. Women are missing, and injustices are rising. Is this not a black day? Modi toppled 12 - 13 governments, bought over 600 MLAs, and turned Parliament into a market - if this isn’t the murder of democracy, then what is?"
Patwari also said that Ambedkar and Congress share an unbreakable bond “like Fevicol,” highlighting the party’s commitment to the values of the Constitution and social justice.

On the other hand, the BJP conducted nationwide seminars marking the Emergency anniversary. Senior BJP leader and national vice president Saroj Pandey dismissed the Congress’s Satyagraha as false, reiterating that it was the Congress itself that imposed Emergency in 1975 and violated the Constitution.
Meanwhile, Congress leaders made it clear from their protest platform that their fight was not against any caste or in support of any caste, but for the protection of the Constitution and the legacy of Dr Ambedkar.
Though the statue matter is still under judicial consideration, the politics around it is intensifying. In Madhya Pradesh, both the BJP and the Congress appear to be positioning themselves around the Constitution and the Dalit vote bank ahead of the next elections.
