WATCH: Cheetahs To Arrive At Madhya Pradesh Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary; Six Vultures Released Into Wild

Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh): Mandsaur's Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary will soon become the second home for cheetahs in Madhya Pradesh, with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav scheduled to participate in a special release programme on April 20.

This development follows the successful introduction of cheetahs at Kuno Sanctuary, where increasing numbers have demonstrated that Madhya Pradesh provides a favourable environment for these magnificent cats.

Additionally, Madhya Pradesh’s second cheetah project has been commenced under the Cheetah Restoration Plan in Gandhi Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary. Two Cheetahs are to be relocated from Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park

A New Milestone in Vulture Conservation in Madhya Pradesh...

Earlier on Thursday, For the first time, six vultures from the Kerwa Vulture Breeding Centre in Bhopal were released into the wild. 

Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav took to his official X handle and informed, “These vultures have been equipped with GPS trackers to ensure continuous monitoring of their movement, behavior, and safety.” 

“Vultures play a crucial role in maintaining the ecological balance. Their conservation is not only essential for protecting biodiversity but also vital for sustaining environmental equilibrium,” he added.

He further emphasized the state government is consistently making efforts to conserve vultures and other endangered species.

Just a month ago, chief minister Yadav released female cheetah Gamini, along with her four cubs, into the open forest of Kuno National Park.

Out of the Gamini’s four cubs, two are male and the other two female.

The CM shared the update on his official X handle, confirming that tourists visiting Kuno will now have the chance to see cheetahs in their natural habitat, which is expected to boost tourism in the region. He further emphasized the government’s commitment to wildlife conservation and tourism development.
