Sheopur (Madhya Pradesh): Ṭhe ‘Cheetah Mitr’ who was seen pouring water for Jwala and her four cubs in a viral video on Saturday, was booked and terminated from his job for violating of wildlife protection rules on Sunday.
Notably, a video from Kuno National Park went viral on Saturday, in which a man was seen offering water to Cheetahs in a pot.
The man in the video was identified as Satyanarayan Gurjar, a driver and member of the Kuno’s monitoring team.
In the video, he calls the cheetahs by saying ‘Come….Come,’ after which the big cat’s family gather near him to drink water.

Netizens saw the act as kind and caring, however, the Forest Department took it seriously and imposed strict action on it.
According to the forest officials, the act was a violation of wildlife protection rules, which strictly prohibit direct human interaction with wild animals. As a result, Satyanarayan Gurjar was removed from his job.
The department said that even though the action was done with a humane intention, it still broke the rules that were meant to protect sensitive species like cheetahs. Officials are now conducting a further investigation, and action might be taken against other staff involved as well.
