Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said Bhopal's Badi Jheel (Upper Lake) is no less than Kashmir’s Dal Lake, and it will be further developed.
Shikara rides will also be introduced here with the support of the tourism department, he said, adding that to win more medals for the country in the Olympics, Commonwealth, and other major international sporting events, the state is actively promoting sports activities, including water sports

The chief minister was speaking after flagging off the ‘Jal Tiranga Yatra’ from Boat Club at the Upper Lake under the ongoing ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Abhiyan.
Water sports players, riding boats used in Asian and Olympic Games, carried the national flag across the Upper Lake. A large number of water sports athletes, students and residents took part in it.
Besides, the Chief Minister also joined the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ organised by the ‘Karm Shri’ Sanstha in Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Nagar, Kolar Road. Yadav also unfurled the ‘Tricolour’ at the ‘Shaurya Smarak’ to flag off a grand ‘Tiranga Yatra’ dedicated to the valour of the Indian Army.
CM to visit to Amjhera on August 16
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is scheduled to visit Amjhera on the occasion of Janmashtami on Saturday.
This visit is part of the state's efforts to promote pilgrimage sites associated with Lord Krishna. CM Yadav will worship Maa Amka-Jhamka at the historic Shri Krishna Rukmini Haran Sthal and visit the fort of Amar Shaheed Maharana Bakhtawar Singh during his visit.
Ahead of his visit, collector Priyank Mishra and SP Manoj Kumar Singh inspected the venue on Thursday. They reviewed the helipad site, temple premises, and the fort and provided necessary instructions to ensure a smooth visit. Sardarpur SDM Asha Parmar, district panchayat CEO Marisha Shinde, BEO Vishnu Raghuvanshi, district panchayat member Gayatri Purohit, and several BJP officials were present during inspection.
