Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Bhopal cyber police have arrested the three accused of ‘sextortion’ from Haryana. They were involved in conning people by recording their videos watching nude girls on their mobiles, police said on Wednesday.

In the month of February this year, the racketeers had also tried to trap Bhopal MP into the similar case. Later, police arrested the three accused.

Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Amit Kumar told media that they had got a complaint in which the complainant had informed that the accused had prepared his video and they had extorted Rs 6.80 lakh and now they are demanding more money.

After the complaint, police formed a team to investigate the case. Based on cyber digital footprint, the cops arrested Adil Khan, Azharuddin Khan and Taamil Khan, all residents of Haryana. They, however, do not have any criminal record.

Police have also seized one tab, three mobile phones, six SIM cards, three ATM cards, passbook and a cheque book from them.

Modus operandi

The three accused shared their crime story to the police. They used to prepare fake social media accounts using photographs of beautiful girls and sent friend requests to many people.

Whoever fell in their trap, was influenced to get into chatting. They lured them to show their body and their demands kept on increasing. They also showed the body parts of a girl in reply. As the person got confidence of the ‘girl’, he started to freely talk to her. One day the ‘girl’ asked the man to get his clothes off.

When the man obliged a video started to play in which a girl was shown stripping. With the help of the mobile app, the accused recorded the whole act and started to blackmail the victim.
