Bhopal: State GST Takes Action Against 396 Business Men
The action was taken under Section 67(1) on 217 businessmen of central jurisdiction.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The state GST department has made Identification of 396 bogus taxpayers in the state based on intensive analysis. Out of which physical verification of 179 businessmen having state jurisdiction, was done.
The action was taken under Section 67(1) on 217 businessmen of central jurisdiction. Out of 396 identified businessmen, prima facie 102 businessmen are bogus/non-existent/non-functional were found.
FakeITC received by dubious/bogus businessmen without any genuine business and while carrying forward the actual tax liability is adjusted against this wrong ITC through cash causing damage to government revenue by affecting the tax liability to be disposed of.
Prima facie it was observed these businessmen are running only fake business without any real business. By issuing the bill, tax evasion amounting to Rs 21 crore appears to have taken place.
GST against businessmen found suspicious/bogus. Special Commissioner Rajni Singh said the loss of government revenue can be stopped by effective prevention of the trend of issuing fake bills.
