Bhopal: No persuasion, pressure worked; Cops, officials watch with folded hands as Purshottam Maharaj takes 3-day Samadhi
The temple priest has given an affidavit take responsibility of his act

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Even the police presence could not deter the self-styled Godman Purshottam Maharaj from going ahead with his three-day ‘Samadhi’ on the premises of Bhadra Kali Bijasan temple in TT Nagar on Friday. In presence of hundreds of devotees , sadhus, the temple priest sat on Samadhi inside a pit dug up for the purpose. The cops and administrative officials who were deployed there had tried hard to persuade the seer to shelve his Samadhi decision, however in vain.
The seer had announced to take a 72-hour Samadhi during the ongoing seven-day Bhagwat Katha which started at the temple complex on Tuesday.
Spokesperson Mithilesh Soni told Free Press, the Maharaj has given an affidavit to police and administration stating that he was taking the Samadhi and would be himself responsible for any eventuality.
Soni said that other senior sadhus and seers have informed the police and administrative officials about the Samadhi procedure and assured that it was harmless and instituted for the welfare of the society.
A 7 ft deep pit measuring 6x5 ft was dug for the Samadhi. The Maharaj sat in the pit in Dhyan Mudra and thereafter the pit was covered with cloth and soil. The seer will now come out of Samadhi on Monday.
Earlier on Thursday, senior police officers had met the Maharaj and tried to convince him to call off his decision, however, the seer remained adamant and took the Samadhi as intended.
