Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): MP Nagar police have registered an FIR against a beggar accused of misbehaving with a youth at a traffic signal near the Board Office.
The incident, which occurred on January 25, came to light when complainant Yogendra Bhalavi, reported the matter to the police.
According to police station in-charge Jaihind Sharma, Bhalavi was driving near the Board Office signal when a physically fit man approached his car and begged money from him.
Taken aback by the beggar's strong physique, Bhalavi questioned why he was begging despite being capable of working. This led to an argument during which the beggar reportedly misbehaved with him. Bhalavi later filed a formal complaint, prompting the police to take the beggar into custody.
During interrogation, the beggar admitted to begging in Bhopal for several years, frequently changing locations.
Authorities have invoked the Begging Prohibition Act and are now examining his background and records. The beggar was released on Monday after being served a notice by the police. Further investigations into the case are underway.
