Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): AIIMS Bhopal has recommended that during the summer season, people should wear loose, breathable cotton clothing, bathe after excessive sweating, avoid heavy and oily cosmetics, drink plenty of water, and not share personal items like towels.
To take proper care of the skin during summer, it is important to cleanse the face twice daily using a gentle, pH-balanced cleanser, apply a light and non-comedogenic moisturizer, and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.
When outdoors, sunscreen should be reapplied every two hours. At night, cleansing the face and applying a hydrating moisturizer is also beneficial.
Some common mistakes people make include skipping sunscreen on cloudy days, rubbing the skin frequently or harshly, and using heavy creams that can clog pores and worsen skin problems.
AIIMS director Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh said, “During the summer season, people often neglect their skin, unaware that high temperatures and UV exposure can severely compromise skin health. AIIMS Bhopal emphasizes the importance of timely precautions and a consistent skincare routine. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a dermatologist without delay to prevent complications.”
