A 24-Year-Old Woman Hangs Herself To Death Hours After Celebrating 4-Year-Old Son’s Birthday In Jabalpur

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A 24-year-old woman hanged herself to death just hours after celebrating her 4-year-old son's birthday in Jabalpur on Sunday.
According to information, her husband often doubted her character and assaulted her mentally.

On June 22, Sonia cut a cake with her son at 10 p.m. and promised him a surprise gift in the morning. However, by 5 a.m., her husband Ajay Namdev found her hanging at the same spot where they had celebrated.
When Anay woke up, he asked for his gift, unaware of his mother’s tragic death.

Police and forensic teams reached the scene, and the body was handed over to the family after the investigation. Sonia’s family has accused her husband Ajay and brother-in-law Vijay Namdev of mental and physical abuse.
They allege that Ajay frequently doubted her character and assaulted her, while harassed her mentally.
The police have registered a case under sections 80 and 85 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for abetment to suicide. Both accused were arrested and sent to judicial custody. CSP Bargi Anjul Ayank Mishra is investigating the case.
The incident sheds light on the ongoing issue of domestic violence, where a young mother’s life ended on the very day she intended to surprise her child.
