22-Year-Old Dies After Consuming Poison In Katni – His Last Video Reveals Shocking Details

Katni (Madhya Pradesh): A 22-year-old youth lost his life after consuming poison due to harassment and threats from moneylenders over a loan Katni district on Monday.

Before taking his life, he recorded a video explaining his situation. In the video, he revealed that he had been selected for the Indian Army, yet he was forced to take this extreme step.

The deceased, Ravidas Singh, died by suicide in Chargarwa village under Sleemanabad police station area in Katni district.

He was reportedly troubled by constant threats from moneylenders. Before taking his life, he recorded a video explaining his situation.

After the video surfaced, the police started investigating the matter and also retrieved chat records from the deceased’s mobile phone.

Victim's last words in video

Before consuming poison, Ravidas Singh recorded a video apologizing to his parents. He said, “Mom, Dad, sorry. I have been selected in the Army, but still, I am dying today.” He further revealed that he had borrowed ₹22,000 from Sujit Kushwaha and another person, but they were pressuring him to return ₹1.5 lakh. Additionally, they were also demanding ₹40,000 from his parents. Unable to bear the threats and pressure, he took the extreme step.

According to Ravidas’s friend, Abhishek Srivastava, the young man went to a hilly area near his village on Sunday and consumed poison. After taking the poison, he sent a video message to his family, informing them about his suicide.

As soon as his family found out, they rushed to the spot and took him to Katni district hospital with the help of a 108 ambulance. Seeing his condition worsen, doctors referred him to Jabalpur, but he passed away on the way near Sihora.

Chats found in Ravidas's phone

The police have recovered WhatsApp and Instagram chats from the deceased’s phone. These messages clearly show that the lenders were continuously pressuring and threatening him for money. It is evident that Ravidas was under severe mental stress, which led him to take this step.

Ravidas’s father is a farmer, while his grandfather was a retired Army officer. He had also secured a job in the Army and was about to join soon. However, the mental harassment by the moneylenders pushed him to end his life.

Katni Additional SP Santosh Dehriya stated that an investigation is underway after receiving information about the case. He said, “Further action will be taken based on the post-mortem report and the statements of the victim’s family.

Strict action will be taken against those found guilty. If anyone is facing harassment due to illegal moneylending, they should immediately seek police help.”
