Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A fatal car crash was reported from Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal, in which a 21-year-old Air India air hostess lost her life, as reported by police on Friday.
According to information, the incident occurred on Thursday night when a speeding car fell into the Kolar canal.
The deceased was identified as Harshita Sharma. She was out for a drive with two of her friends at the time of the accident.
According to Kolar police station in-charge Sanjay Soni, one of Harshita’s friends was driving the car. He said a cow suddenly came in front of the vehicle near Holy Cross School bridge in Kolar. While trying to avoid hitting the cow, he lost control and the car fell into the canal.
At present, police have filed a case of negligent driving against Jai.

Harshita was seriously injured and was rushed to a private hospital. She was admitted in critical condition. Later, unfortunately, she was declared brain dead by doctors.
She passed away early Friday morning. Her two friends, Jai and Sujal, received minor injuries.

According to Harshita's father, Pradeep Sharma, he was unaware Harshita was in Bhopal. As she was a cabin crew member she mostly remained outside the city.
On Wednesday night, she had told that she would come to Bhopal for his birthday on Friday. The family didn’t know she had already reached Bhopal on Thursday and was staying at a hotel.
Her family came to know about the accident when Harshita's friend Shivani called them to inform them that she was in the hospital. By the time they reached, doctors had declared her dead.
At present, police are investigating the matter.
Further action would be taken on the basis of post-mortem reports.
