Citroen Basalt Price Hike: Now Costlier by Up to Rs 28,000 in India

Citroen India has raised the prices of its coupe SUV, the Basalt, by up to Rs 28,000, depending on the variant. The highest hike of Rs 28,000 applies to the Plus varinats powered by the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with both manual and automatic transmissions. The entry-level You variant, featuring a 1.2-litre petrol manual transmission, has seen a Rs 26,000 increase.
Meanwhile, the Max single-tone and dual-tone variants with 1.2-litre turbo-petrol manual are now Rs 21,000 more expensive. Additionally, the Max automatic variants, including the dual-tone options, have been revised with a Rs 17,000 price increase. The Citroen Basalt lineup offered in three trims – You, Plus, and Max – with two engine options.
The Citroen Basalt is powered by two engine options: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a more powerful 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit. The naturally aspirated engine produces 81 bhp and 115 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. For those desiring higher performance, the turbo-petrol engine generates 108 bhp and 205 Nm of torque, offered with a choice of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission
Prioritizing safety and connectivity, the Basalt comes standard with six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and 3-point seat belts for all passengers. Customization options include five solid paint finishes, two dual-tone schemes, and an extensive range of over 70 accessories.
The SUV also boasts a 26 cm Citroen Connect Infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. It integrates the My Citroën Connect 2.0 system, offering more than 40 smart features like remote engine start and geo-fencing. Additional features include Hill Hold Control and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System for enhanced driving convenience and safety.
The Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe recently secured a 4-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests. Built on the same platform as the C3 Aircross, the Basalt achieved an impressive 26.19 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection and 35.90 out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection.
