A 22-year-old social media influencer, Maria Jose Estupinan Sanchez, was shot dead outside her home in Colombia's Cucuta earlier this week. According to reports, the assailant, posed as a delivery agency, approached her with a fake present and then shot her fatally.

Bogota: A 22-year-old social media influencer, Maria Jose Estupinan Sanchez, was shot dead outside her home in Colombia's Cucuta. Earlier this week, a man posing as a deliveryman shot her dead from close range earlier this week, local media outlet Noticias Caracol reported, quoting the commander of District One of the Cucuta Metropolitan Police, Colonel Leonardo Capacho.
According to reports, the assailant approached her with a fake present and then shot her fatally. After Sanchez's murder, the assailant was captured running away from the influencer's house in a security camera installed in the neighbourhood. He was wearing a black cap, jeans and a jacket. He also had a backpack.

After the incident, the Colombian influencer was rushed to the hospital. However, she succumbed to bullet injuries. Sanchez was shot dead in the afternoon at around 1:00 pm.
Who Was Maria Jose Estupinan Sanchez?
Sanchez was a 22-year-old social media influencer and a university student. She was a seventh-semester communication social student at the University of Pamplona. Recently, she reportedly won a domestic abuse case against her ex-boyfriend. As per reports, Sanchez had secured a court-ordered payout of 30 million Colombian Pesos (COP). She was active on social media and frequently kept posting about her modelling career and student life.
No arrests have been made so far. The police have launched a manhunt operation to nab the suspect seen in the CCTV.
Notably, Sanchez was murdered days after a Mexican social media influencer was tragically shot and killed while livestreaming on TikTok. Valeria Márquez, 23, had gained popularity online with nearly 200,000 followers across TikTok and Instagram. During her recent live session, she suffered three back-to-back bullets. The fatal incident occurred while Márquez was filming herself from her beauty salon, Blossom the Beauty Lounge.
