A purported video showing a US F‑15 fighter jet chasing what appears to be Iranian Shahed drones over Iraqi airspace is circulating on social media. The clip, widely shared by Iran‑aligned accounts, shows the jet pursuing the unmanned aircraft, followed by a large ground explosion and smoke rising at the scene.

The footage is reportedly from an Iranian strike on a British engine oil company in Iraq's Erbil, which caused a massive fire. As of now, neither the United States nor any of its allies has confirmed the incident.

Accounts sharing the video on X claimed that the F‑15 aircraft "failed to intercept" at least two "cheap" Iranian Shahed-136 drones. The clip shows an F-15 circling a Shahed-136 drone.

The American F-15 aircraft is reportedly worth $1million, while the Iranian Shahed drone is worth $20,000.

Earlier on Wednesday, a series of drone attacks hit a British-owned motor oil facility in Iraq's Kurdistan region, sparking a massive blaze that sent thick black smoke over the city of Erbil. The facility, a Castrol plant operated by the Sardar Group, was reportedly struck by three drones over the course of the morning.

The attacks came after a warning from Iran's ambassador to the United Kingdom, Seyed Ali Mousavi, who said that Tehran is evaluating whether to launch strikes against British military bases.
