VIDEO: NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh Breaks Down During Speech After His Party Suffers Crushing Defeat In Canada Elections
Jagmeet Singh, the leader of Canada's National Democratic Party (NDP) lost his own election to parliament.

Jagmeet Singh, the leader of Canada's National Democratic Party (NDP) lost his own election to parliament and his party suffered a rout. Singh, a pro-Khalistan sympathiser; lost his seat in Burnaby Central. he also announced to step down from the post of the party chief. While addressing his party members in Burnaby on Tuesday, the NDP leader broke down.
He thanked his supporters and party members. Singh announced that he would step down from the post as soon as the appointment of the interim leader.

During his address, Singh also congratulated Mark Carney as The Liberal Party emerged as the single largest party.
"Thank you. And all of you in this room, you guys poured your heart into this. Thank you so much for everything you've done. You're amazing. Love you all. Thank you. And I know I know in election in election parties, night parties across the country, people, are are gathered. I wanna thank them all, for all their hard work. They're amazing people gathered together across the country," Singh said.
"I wanna take a moment to congratulate Prime Minister Carney, on his victory," he added.
Expressing disappointment at the result, the NDP leader said, "Tonight, they chose thank you. Tonight, they chose a new member of parliament, and I wish them well as they continue to work hard for this community. Obviously, I know this night is a disappointing night for new Democrats. We had really good candidates that lost tonight."
He came in third in the Burnaby Central constituency in British Columbia, trailing the Liberal Party winner and the Conservative Party candidate. Singh became the leader of the NDP in 2017.
Singh extended his party's support to the then Canada PM Justin Trudeau, to form the government. However, last year, his party withdrew the support for Trudeau. Earlier this year, Trudeau stepped down as the Prime Minister.

In the 343-member Parliament, Carney's Liberal Party won 163 seats, while the Conservatives managed to clinch 149 seats. The NDP bagged only seven seats.
