A powerful 8.8-magnitude earthquake struck Russia’s Far East on Wednesday, sending tsunami waves towards Japan, Hawaii, and the US West Coast.
According to Russian authorities, several people were injured after one of the most powerful quakes on record hit near Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula at approximately 11:25 am local time on Wednesday.
Following the earthquake, several videos surfaced, capturing terrifying moments as the massive quake struck the Kamchatka Peninsula.

The doctors reportedly continued the operation despite the powerful 8.8-magnitude earthquake. The region’s health minister confirmed this, adding that the patient is doing well.
A video shared by the government-owned RT channel on X received a range of reactions from users.
One user wrote, “Praying right now for the Russian people near the tsunami. Praying also for all the other people in or near the vicinity of the tsunami. May no one get hurt!”
Praising the doctors, another user commented, “Not even so much as a word of distress. Impressive.”
