Jhansi: A video capturing a dangerously overloaded auto-rickshaw flouting traffic rules in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, has gone viral on social media, raising serious concerns about road safety. The viral clip shows two men precariously perched on the roof of the moving auto, while the vehicle itself was packed with passengers inside.
The overloaded auto was reportedly seen speeding towards the city's Jail Square, weaving through an empty road in blatant violation of traffic regulations, as per a report by Bharat Samachar.

As the video gained traction online, it caught the attention of Jhansi Police, prompting a swift response. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the police confirmed that the incident had been noticed and immediate action was being taken. "In relation to the matter, the traffic in-charge has been directed to take necessary action," the police stated in their official tweet.

This incident highlights the recurring problem of overloading in public transport vehicles, particularly in smaller cities where autos are often the primary mode of transport. Despite repeated advisories by the traffic department, violations of this nature continue to occur, compromising passenger safety.
Authorities have reiterated that strict action will be taken against the violator to set an example and discourage others from engaging in similar dangerous practices.
