The visuals showed the dehydrated camel resting on the sand, visibly struggling to survive the extreme desert heat. That’s when Haier stepped in to help. She fed the animal with some water and comforted it.
While adult camels are said to survive weeks without water, this one was too young and weak. The camel was believed to be around three years old.
Local media later confirmed the camel had a numbered tag and belonged to a nearby herder. It had reportedly been separated from its herd and wandered the desert alone for months.
Though the footage was captured in late April, Haier visited the herder’s home on May 5 to check on the animal. She shared the camel is now recovering well and able to eat and walk normally.
