VIDEO: Assam Principal Forgets To Lower Indian National Flag On Independence Day, Spotted Folding It With Legs On Following Day, Arrested

Soon after an incident of Assam youths disrespecting the Indian National Flag was reported, another incident from Assam is coming to light, this time a principal of a Higher Secondary school was accused of folding the Indian National Flag with her legs after forgetting to lower it on Independence Day. According to the reports, the principal was arrested after the video went viral on social media, and locals demanded strict action against her. This is the second instance of disrespecting the National Flag from Assam on this Independence Day, which came to light.

According to the reports, the accused is a principal of Gopinath Deb Goswami Higher Secondary School, Barangatali, Chamguri, and was identified as Fatema Khatun. As seen in the viral video, she was seen lowering the flag on the next day of Independence Day, on Saturday. She allegedly kept the flag rising on Friday night, which is a disrespect of the flag.

On Saturday, she came to the school alone and lowered the flag on her own. After lowering it, she was seen folding it with the help of her legs. She can be seen trying to fold the flag with her legs and knees in the video.

What Police say?

Police said, "She had hoisted the flag in the presence of students on August 15 (Independence Day), but on Saturday she came alone at around 7:30 am, opened the school gate, and lowered the flag, after locals in the area had criticised her for keeping the national flag hoisted on Friday night."

She was arrested from Nagaon district under the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971.

Three Youths Arrested For 'Disrespecting And Kicking' Indian National Flag

Three youths were arrested in Guwahati, Assam, after a video of them disrespecting the Indian National flag. The youths in the video can be seen kicking the National Flag, prompting huge outrage from netizens. The incident is from near Khankar Gaon in Guwahati, and the youths are reportedly living in the nearby PG. According to the reports, their identities and other details have not been revealed yet.
