Is Skateboarding Legal In India?
While there is no explicit law in India that prohibits skateboarding on roads, it is generally not recommended or considered acceptable in practice due to safety concerns and the potential for traffic disruption. Many Indian roads are unsuitable for skateboarding because of rough surfaces, potholes, limited space, and heavy traffic.
Besides, certain local authorities, such as the New Town Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA) have imposed specific bans on skateboarding on roads and pavements in designated areas.
