Craving a cupcake? You might want to rethink the dessert treat after seeing this viral reel.

A video shared by an Instagram influencer, who goes by the @itsmejuliette, has taken the internet by storm — and for all the unexpected reasons. In the now-viral clip, which has racked up nearly five million views, the 'chef' presents shares a hack to create cupcakes at home. She gives an unexpected twist by using capsicum in the dessert recipe.

Capsicum? Yes, you read that right.

Juliette is seen holding a chocolate cupcake featuring a hollowed-out capsicum (bell pepper) base.

In the video, she is heard saying, “This is your sign to start using a bell pepper instead of cupcake liners. Not only is it a healthier option, but it also cuts down on paper waste".

The food reel captures the entire process of preparing the dish.

She begins by placing opened bell peppers on a tray, then goes on to de-seed them before filling them with chocolate cupcake batter.

What comes next is obvious, she sets her unique cupcakes on a baking session. Once done, she takes a bite and confidently claims, “I love biting into that soft chocolate cake and then getting the sweet crunch of the bell pepper. It’s so good.”

Netizens react

While some viewers appreciated the creativity, many were left in stitches. Netizens were hilariously dramatic in the comments. “Go straight to jail,” one user wrote. “Officer, she’s right over there,” another noted.

Still, a few took her side, saying the hack could be “super useful for people without cupcake trays.”

Love it or loathe it, the Instagram influencer's capsicum cupcakes have gone viral. The recipe video has hit millions of views and recorded over 28,000 likes.
