Samsung Likely To Unveil First Triple Folding Smartphone In October

Samsung has largely been rumoured to launch a triple folding smartphone sometime this year. It was expected to be unveiled with the other foldables launched earlier this month, but that didn’t happen. Now, a new leak suggests that the tri-fold Samsung smartphone, a first from the company, will be launched in October through a dedicated event.

A Chinese tipster took to Weibo to share that Samsung is preparing for an October event for unveiling the first triple folding smartphone from the company. Minseok Kang, Vice President, Product Planning, Samsung Electronics, recently had confirmed that the tri-fold phone would launch in 2025. He said that the name was still being finalised as the smartphone is still under development phase.

Huawei was the first company to launch a triple folding smartphone – Huawei the Mate XT Ultimate - last year. Essentially, a tri-fold smartphone is a device that folds two times.

Details regarding the upcoming Samsung triple folding smartphone are scarce. We expect leaks to pick up pace closer to launch. Apart from Samsung, OEM companies like Xiaomi and Honor are also reportedly working on triple folding smartphones.

Meanwhile, Samsung has launched the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galazy Z Flip 7 in its foldable range. The company has also unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, a Fan Edition variant for the more price conscious buyer. All of these phones are available in India for pre-orders. There are a slew of offers available on these foldables, the big one being that the 512GB variant is being sold for the 256GB price. These offers are valid only till July 21.  

The foldable market adoption is on a steady rise in India with Vivo also unveiling the X Fold 5 this month.
