Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 series is generating attention with fresh leaks pointing to significant price increases in India. The tech giant is largely rumoured to launch the devices on September 9, with invites expected in the last week of August.
A new report now reveals the Indian pricing of the iPhone 17 models. The vanilla iPhone 17 could begin at approximately Rs. 89,900, a rise from the pricing of current-generation non-Pro variants.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to start around Rs. 1,45,000, with some leaks suggesting a slightly lower figure of approximately Rs, 1,39,900. The highest-end iPhone 17 Pro Max could debut at around Rs. 1,64,990 in India.
Several factors are believed to be driving these price hikes, including increased component costs, US tariffs on goods produced in China and India, and a strategic upgrade in features, especially notably higher base storage in Pro models.
In the US, the iPhone 17 Pro is rumored to start at $1,049, a $50 increase over its predecessor, but this bump comes alongside the doubling of base storage to 256GB. Leveraging Apple’s customary India markup, the equivalent price in India is estimated to be around Rs. 1,21,900, though other leaks suggest prices could stretch higher.
Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 17 lineup, including the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and an ultrathin iPhone 17 Air, in early September 2025, possibly around September 9. Pre-orders may follow shortly before retail availability kicks off later in the month.
Apple’s confirmation is anticipated at the official launch event next month.
