Pakistan win narrowly despite fifties from Phil Mustard and Ian Bell
Meanwhile, Pakistan champions emerged victorious by five runs at Edgbaston, Birmingham while defending 161 despite Phil Mustard (58) and Ian Bell (51*) mustering fifties. Earlier, captain Mohammad Hafeez had hammered 54 off 34 deliveries but it was Aamer Yamin's 13-ball 27 that give their side the much-needed impetus.
Although Mustard made 58, he consumed 51 deliveries to do so. Bell did score his unbeaten 51 in 35 deliveries but Pakistan legends found a way to win. Rumman Raees, Sohail Tanvir and Yamin picked up one wicket each.
Pakistan champions were notably the runners-up the last year, having lost to India. Hence, they will look to go one step ahead this year.
