As Team India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy reached his maiden hundred during the ongoing Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) against Australia, his father Mutyalal couldn't help but let out his emotions. The youngster's father was quite emotional and was spotted crying at the iconic venue.

The incident occurred in the 115th over of the innings as the right-handed batter lofted a full delivery from Scott Boland over the in-ring fielder. The cameras immediately panned to his father, who had tears of joy as several other Indian supporters were beside him, extending their congratulations. When Reddy was on 99, Pat Cummins got India's 9th wicket, making the Indian supporters at the venue nervous. However, Mohammed Siraj got through some nervous moments to allow the youngster to get to his hundred.

Below is the video of the special moment:

"We cannot forget this day in our life" - Nitish Kumar Reddy's father

Speaking to Adam Gilchrist following the day's play, the seam-bowling all-rounder's father said he was quite tensed and relieved later at how Mohammed Siraj survived to allow his son to make a hundred.

"For our family, it's a special day and we cannot forget this day in our life. He has been performing well since the age group of 14-15 and now in international cricket, it's a very special feeling. I was very tensed. Only the last wicket was remaining. Thankfully Siraj managed to survive."

By Stumps, India were 358/9 but Australia still hold a 116-run lead and will hoe to take the last wicket as quickly as possible on day four. Meanwhile, play had to be called off early on day three due to bad light and rain.
