Australian star batter Travis Head was named Cricket Australia Men’s Player of the Year on February 3, winning his first Allan Border Medal for his exceptional performances across all formats in 2024.
A video shared on social media captured head coach Andrew McDonald presenting the medal to Head, who responded with a relaxed thumbs-up, adding a fun and lighthearted touch to the moment.
Head secured the award with 208 votes, finishing ahead of Josh Hazlewood (158) and Pat Cummins (147). He received the honour remotely from Sri Lanka, where Australia is currently playing 2 match test series.

Head had a phenomenal year, scoring 1,427 runs in 29 matches nearly double that of Steve Smith, who was the second-highest scorer with 806 runs. He also outperformed Adam Zampa (50 wickets) and Cummins (49 wickets).
