Morner Morkel and Ryan ten Doeschate under scanner
Morkel and Ten Doeschate had been handpicked by head coach Gautam Gambhir when he took over last year, but both have failed to deliver in their respective positions, especially in Test cricket.
Morkel, the former South African fast bowler, has come under fire for what the board sees as a lack of visible progress among the Indian pacers. Meanwhile, questions are being raised over ten Doeschate’s specific contributions to the team setup.
Gambhir had previously worked with them in the IPL Morkel at Lucknow Super Giants and ten Doeschate, along with assistant coach Abhishek Nayar, at Kolkata Knight Riders. Nayar has already exited the coaching group following India’s disappointing showing in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
The report also states that Chief selector Ajit Agarkar and fellow panel member Shiv Sundar Das, who are currently with the team in England, are also reportedly being closely monitored by the board.
