'Surviving On Maggi Noodles For Three Years': Nita Ambani Reveals How Mumbai Indians Discovered Pandya Brothers & Jasprit Bumrah; Video

Mumbai Indians owner Nita Ambani recently shared how the team discovered star players Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah, who debuted for Mumbai Indians in 2013, has played a key role in their five IPL title wins. On the other side Hardik Pandya joined in 2015 and became one of India's most consistent all-rounders.

Speaking at an event in Boston, Ambani recalled how she and Mumbai Indians scouting team closely followed domestic cricket, attending Ranji Trophy matches to spot new talent.

She revealed that the Pandya brothers struggled financially, surviving on Maggi noodles for three years. However, she saw their hunger and determination to succeed. Mumbai Indians bought Hardik Pandya for just ₹10 LAKHS in 2015, and today, he is the team’s captain.

Hardik left Mumbai Indians in 2022 to join Gujarat Titans, leading them to the IPL title in their debut season and finishing as runners-up in 2023. However, he returned to Mumbai Indians as captain in 2024 and will continue to lead them in the upcoming IPL 2025 season.

IPL 2025 to begin from March 22

Mumbai Indians will begin their campaign on March 23 against their biggest rivals, Chennai Super Kings. The IPL 2025 season will kick off on March 22 with the opening match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
