A bizarre stoppage in play was witnessed in Colombo on Saturday when a monitor lizard entered the ground during the Only Test between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.
Play was halted briefly in the 48th over of Sri Lanka's first innings on Day 2 as the reptile crawled onto the field from the boundary line that distracted the fielder in the deep.
"We had an uninvited guest on the field today," host broadcaster Sony Sports Network posted on Twitter.
Notably, this is not the first time something like this has happened in Sri Lanka. There have been multiple instances in the past when matches in the island nation have been halted due to snakes on the field.
