Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Saugata Roy has strongly supported Congress leader Shama Mohamed's deleted tweet that called Team India skipper Rohit Sharma fat amid Champions Trophy 2025 clash vs New Zealand on Sunday. Roy believes Rohit deserves neither a place in the side or he should be captain.

Shama Mohamed had triggered controversy by claiming that Rohit is fat for a sportsperson and that the 37-year-old must focus on losing his weight first. She also referred to the veteran opening batter as the most unimpressive skipper India has ever had thus far.
Speaking to ANI, Roy expressed his views on the same and said:
"Rohit Sharma ke baare mein jo bola hai main sehmat hoon. Kitne din tak Rohit Sharma ko choot diya jaayega. Ek baar century kiya 1-2 saal mein aur 2, 5, 10, 20 pe out ho jaata hai. Usko na team mein jagah milna chahiye na adhinayak rehna chahiye. Jo Congress ke leader ne bola hai, theek boli hai."
(Whatever was said about Rohit Sharma I agree with it. For how long Rohit Sharma's performances will fly under the radar? He scores one ton in 1 or 2 years and gets dismissed for 2, 5, 10, or 20 runs. He should neither be in the team or remain as captain. Whatever the Congress leader said is right.)
Rohit Sharma and co. to face Australia in the semi-final
Meanwhile, the 44-run victory over New Zealand on Sunday has ensured that the Men in Blue will face Australia on March 4, Tuesday in Dubai.
With four frontline Indian spinners wreaking havoc against New Zealand, Australia face a stiff challenge of toppling the Men in Blue to reach the final. The Men in Yellow hasn't had much of game time either since defeating England by five wickets. Their matches against South Africa and Afghanistan were washed out.
