Nepal’s Yuvraj Khatri delivered a remarkable bowling performance in the ongoing Men’s U-19 Asia Cup match against Bangladesh, taking four wickets for just 23 runs. However, his stellar spell was overshadowed by a bizarre injury while celebrating wicket.
Khatri’s standout moment came during an over where he claimed two consecutive wickets. The first dismissal saw him clean bowl the batter attempting a reverse scoop with an off-spin delivery. Khatri celebrated with a “shoe-call” gesture, made famous by South African spinner Tabraiz Shamsi.
Later, he struck again, trapping Rizan Hassan LBW. In his excitement, Khatri sprinted across the field but twisted his ankle mid-run, collapsing to the ground in visible pain. Unable to stand, he was assisted off the field by teammates and medical staff before being sent for scans.

Earlier in the match, Nepal struggled to build a solid innings, managing just 141 runs before being bowled out. Akash Tripathi top-scored with 43, while Uttam Magar and Abhishek Tiwari contributed 29 each. The rest of the batting lineup faltered against Bangladesh’s disciplined bowling. Al Fahad, Iqbal Hossain Emon, and Rihad Hossain picked up two wickets each.
Bangladesh chased down the target comfortably, securing a five-wicket win. Zawad Abrar and captain Azizul Hakim led the way, scoring half-centuries to seal the victory. Nepal’s Hemant Dhami claimed the only other wicket for his side.
