Former champions MCC Red prevailed over MCC Purple by six runs to storm into the MCC Pr0-40 Elite League final, played at Oval Maidan. They take on hot favourites MCC Green for the coveted title. MCC Green, earlier defeated Blue team by a solitary run in the other semifinal.
Put into bat, Red batters, led by Anand Tiwari (57), went all out to end up 218 for nine in their allotted quota of 40 overs. Apart from the bat of Anand, other notable contributions came from Dev Jamula (50) and Divyansh Saxena (46). However, Purple batters too went for the bowling, treating pace and spin alike, but fell short by six runs. Anand for his 57 and two wickets, was adjudged the ‘Man-of-the-match’.
