Fire broke out at the luxury hotel where SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) players are currently staying amid the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 stint. The fire erupted on the first floor of Park Hyatt in the extravagant Banjara Hills locality, emanating smoke across the corridors, as media reports unveiled it.
Although the cause of the fire is yet to be known, firefighters reached the spot quickly and took control of the situation. According to media reports, no players or the contingent of the Orange Army were hurt and they were evacuated quickly in the wake of the situation. The incident reportedly took place at 8:50 am in the morning of April 14, 2025.
Additionally, the pre-release function for the upcoming Telugu movie 'Odela 2' was scheduled to be held in the evening at the same hotel.
SunRisers Hyderabad break their four-match losing streak
Meanwhile, the Orange Army, led by Pat Cummins, broke their four-game losing streak in the ten-team tournament when they defeated the Punjab Kings by eight wickets at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Chasing a daunting 246, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma exploded with a 171-run opening stand, leaving Punjab stunned. Abhishek, who hadn't fired in the tournament until Saturday's fixture, was especially brutal as he slammed 141 off 55 deliveries. It needed the SunRisers only 18.2 overs to gun down the total and it became the second-highest successful run-chase in IPL history.
