Mumbai Indians opener Rohit Sharma was seen limping with his pads and bat off a practice session as he went on to miss the match against the Lucknow Super Giants on Friday at the Ekana International Stadium. A video of the same surfaced on April 4 when the match had already started.
At the toss, Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya had announced that the former captain has picked up a knee injury during practice, rendering him unavailable for the game. However, fans speculated whether Rohit had been dropped due to his poor performance in the previous three games. Despite the knee injury, the right-handed batter was involved in the match, passing on advice to the team during the strategic time-out.
