Delhi Capitals' keeper-batter KL Rahul brutally trolled Kevin Pietersen over his vacation to the Maldives as they were gearing up for the IPL 2025 match against the Gujarat Titans on April 19, Saturday in Ahmedabad. The Karnataka-born cricketer said mentor is someone who takes a vacation to Maldives for two weeks mid-season.
Pietersen, who has played for multiple franchises during his playing tenure in the IPL, including Delhi, returned for them as a mentor ahead of the 18th edition. The former England batter has been quite active behind the scenes and was notably seen offering advice to a struggling Jake Fraser-McGurk during the clash against the SunRisers Hyderabad in Vishakhapatnam.
In a video shared by the Delhi Capitals on social media, Titans skipper Shubman Gill came to greet Pietersen, who was asked how he feels about the role. With Pietersen casually asking who is a mentor, Rahul responded:
"Mentor is someone who goes to Maldives for two weeks mid-season."
