The flights to airports namely Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot - cities along the Pakistan border have been closed until 5:30 am IST on May 10. The development comes amid India's strikes on Pakistan's terrorist camps as part of Operation Sindoor and Mumbai Indians' travel plans to Dharamsala are under focus.
According to a report of Times of India, Punjab Kings' and Delhi Capitals' players are already there in Dharamsala, with the two teams scheduled to lock horns on May 8. The Mumbai Indians are scheduled to reach there later this week, with the five-time champions set to play at the venue on May 11, Sunday. Reports also claim that the government has issued no directive until now and the match between Punjab and Delhi will go as per schedule.
A BCCI official claimed the below as quoted by the Times of India:
"We will have to wait and watch for now. There is no option because even Chandigarh airport is shut so we need to see what can be done. Two teams are already here and MI were supposed to arrive later this week for their match on May 11. The nearest option is the Delhi airport but that would mean a long road journey for the teams. We are tracking government advisories and will take the call as necessary."
Keeping in mind the recent tensions, the travel plans for Mumbai Indians could well be altered.
Mumbai Indians' six-game winning streak ended by Gujarat Titans
