'He Had Special 6th Sense To Pick Talent': Sachin Tendulkar Pens Emotional Note On Ex-Mumbai Skipper Milind Rege's Sudden Demise

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar took to social media and offered condolence to former Mumbai skipper Milind Rege who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 76 due to cardiac arrest. The cricket legend took to X and penned down a long note where he spoke about Rege's ability to spot talent special sixth sense to pick talent at all levels.
Tendulkar in his post wrote, " Sad to hear about Milind Rege Sir's passing. He was a true Mumbai cricketer with immense contributions to the city's cricket. He and other CCI members saw potential in me and asked me to play for CCI, which, as I look back now, was a landmark moment in my career."
He added, "He could pick out a talented player from a sea of hardworking hopefuls. He had a special sixth sense to pick talent at all levels, but especially at junior levels. He leaves behind a void, one that's tough to fill. He may not be around, but his imprint on people's lives will always live on. He made a difference to so many lives and definitely made a difference to mine. Thank you, Sir, for everything. Heartfelt condolences to his friends and family.

Who was Milind Rege?
Milind Rege was an off-spinning all-rounder who featured in 52 First-Class matches for Mumbai. Rege was part of five consecutive Ranji Trophy title-winning seasons. Rege took 126 wickets with his offbreaks in 52 first-class matches between 1966-67 and 1977-78. He also scored 1532 runs at an average of 23.56. His playing career was cut short due to cardiac issues in his late 20s.
Rege served Mumbai cricket in various capacities. He served as a selector who unearthed new talents and for the last four years, Rege was appointed as an advisor by the Mumbai Cricket Association.
