Advit Tiwari came up with all-round performance to help Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Vidyalaya beat RR Education Trust at Parsee Gymkhana on Wednesday and advance into the final of the 123rd Giles Shield MSSA Annual Inter School Cricket Tournament. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar continuing their batting on the final day of the three-day semifinal, scored 169-7 in their allotted 40 overs.

Advit smashed 93 to power his side. He had earlier scored unbeaten 72 in the first innings. Left arm spinner Advait Joshi bowled a good spell and was rewarded with a four-wicket haul, (4-28) and end with match-haul of eight wickets. Advit later spun a web around the opposition with his leg breaks, picking seven key wickets (7-34) in 11 overs as RR Education were bundled out for 147 in 37.4 overs. He finished with a match-haul of ten wickets.

Resuming their batting on day 2, RR Education Trust posted 135 all out in 61.4 overs. Left-handed batter Shaurya Navale top scored with 45. Off spinner Aayush Chavan stole the show with his great bowling grabbing (4-55) in 27 overs. Advit Tiwari picked (3-36) in 18 overs. During their second innings, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar finished the day with 116-6 in 34 overs.

Earlier, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar posted 221 in 71.4 overs in their first innings. Advit scored unbeaten 72 and Sammit Kothmire chipped in with 61 runs. Joshi bowled a brilliant spell and snapped up (4-64) in 21 overs. Medh Daiya also picked three wickets.

Meanwhile, resuming their batting on day 2, Dnyandeep Seva Mandal Primary and Secondary School chased down their first innings score comfortably, posting 291 all out in 78.5 overs against General Education Academy Chembur at Bombay Gymkhana on Wednesday. Shriyush Chavan batted well for his 80, Anuj Chaudhary scored 61 and Lavish Singh contributed 42.

Shriyush and Anuj stole the show for their side, stitching a 114 runs partnership for the second wicket. Both youngsters batted well making sure their side ruled supreme. Off spinner Siddhant Desai grabbed a four-wicket haul, (4-49) while Sparsh Gholap also an off spinner- snapped up (3-58).

Batting again during their second innings General Education Academy Chembur finished day 2 with 8-0 in 5 overs. Earlier on day 1, GE Academy posted 224-9 in 80 overs. Akshat Joshi made 110 in 195 balls. Anup Yadav was the pick of the bowlers snapping up (3-15) while Umair Nadeem grabbed (3-46). When Dnyandeep came out to bat, they finished with 7-0 in 2 overs at the end of day 1.
