Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar shared a heartfelt video on social media, reminiscing about his journey at Wankhede and congratulating the stadium on completing 50 golden years.
The iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, a landmark in Indian cricket history, is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a series of grand festivities organized by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).
In the video he said, “We are celebrating 50 years of Wankhede Stadium, 50 saal pure hue. This stadium, where I started as a young player, gave me incredible moments until my retirement. It has always been special for so many people.”

Tendulkar also recalled his fondest memory: winning the 2011 ICC World Cup at Wankhede. “The best moment of my life was when we won the 2011 World Cup in India. Now it’s time for us to come together and celebrate Wankhede Stadium,” he added.

The celebrations will feature cricketing icons, including Sunil Gavaskar, Rohit Sharma, Ravi Shastri, Ajinkya Rahane, Dilip Vengsarkar, Suryakumar Yadav, and Diana Edulji, along with other domestic and international stars who have contributed to Mumbai’s cricketing legacy.
