The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly banned India's head coach Gautam Gambhir's personal assistant, Gaurav Arora, from travelling with the team amid concerns over stricter player guidelines.
Arora was accused of gaining access to restricted areas meant only for players, team officials, and selectors. Reports suggest that he was seen in a car designated for national selectors, entered BCCI’s hospitality box in Adelaide, and even had breakfast in an area reserved for the team and support staff.
After some Indian team members complained, the BCCI took action. According to a CricBlogger report, Arora is now barred from staying in the same hotel as the team, using VIP boxes in stadiums, or traveling on the team bus.
Initially, there were discussions about appointing Arora to accompany Gambhir for all Indian matches, but opposition from other BCCI officials halted the move, reportedly leaving Gambhir frustrated.

The BCCI has also banned players from traveling with their personal hair stylists and chefs. The board was particularly upset about how closely Gambhir’s PA followed the team during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.
The BCCI has set new rules limiting how long players' families can travel with them on tours. For tours lasting more than 45 days, family members can stay with players for only 14 days. For shorter tours, they can stay for up to seven days.
