Australia completely dominated proceedings in Delhi on Wednesday to crush the Netherlands by 309 runs to register the biggest margin of victory in ODI World Cup history.

Chasing a mammoth 400 runs for victory, Australia bowled out the Dutch for 90 runs in 21 overs to get their campaign well and truly back on track with their third successive win in this tournament. Vikramjit Singh (25) top-scored for the Dutch.

Zampa takes 3rd successive 4-wicket haul

Leg-spinner Adam Zampa bagged his third consecutive four-wicket haul to lead the Aussie bowling attack while Mitchell Marsh took a couple of scalps.

The margin of victory helped Australia climb up to fourth position on the points table thanks to a massive boost in their net run rate.

This is overall the second biggest win in ODI cricket after India's 317-run triumph over Sri Lanka in Trivandrum earlier this year.

The Maxwell, Warner show in Delhi

Glenn Maxwell and David Warner were the chief architects behind this victory as both smashed hundreds to help Australia post 399 for 8 in 50 overs.

Maxwell (106 off 44 balls) blew away the Dutch attack to score his century off just 40 balls, while Warner struck 104 off 93 balls to power Australia to 399 for eight after opting to bat.

In the process, Maxwell bettered the earlier record of South Africa's Aiden Markram, who had smashed 106 off 49 balls against Sri Lanka at the same ground here on October 7. Maxwell hit nine fours and eight sixes during his whirlwind knock.

"I was just trying to give ourselves a good platform at the end. You can certainly cash in on this ground with bat (batting first towards the end) and it seams under lights. Nice to get some rhythm finally in the tournament. Huge confidence booster," said Player of the Match Maxwell.

Steve Smith also made a fine 71 off 68 balls, while Marnus Labuschagne scored 62 off 47 balls. Logan van Beek (4/74) and Bas de Leede (2/115) shared six wickets between them.
