Phalgun Month, also known as Phalguna Mausam or Falgun Mass, is the final and 12th month of the traditional Hindu calendar. In 2025, Phalgun Month begins on February 13 and ends on March 14. This month is observed in several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh.

About Phalgun Month 2025

The month of Phalgun is celebrated as a time of joy and festivities. As summer begins to take hold, the chill of winter gradually dissipates. This month also signifies the conclusion of the Hindu year in the Shalivahana Shaka calendar. It is believed that worshipping the moon during Phalgun can help eliminate Chandra Dosh from one's horoscope. According to legend, the moon was born in this month, which is why offering prayers to the moon can alleviate mental stress and enhance self-control.

Rituals of Phalgun Month

Start your day by waking up early in the morning and taking a bath before sunrise. Dress in clean, new white clothes and offer your worship to the gods and goddesses. First, purify your place of worship with holy water (Gangajal). On Falgun Shukla Ashtami, there is a tradition of worshipping Maa Lakshmi and Maa Sita.

Falgun Chaturdashi is dedicated to Lord Krishna and Lord Shiva. The month of Falgun hosts numerous festivals, including Holi, Maha Shivratri, Vijaya Ekadashi, Yashoda Janmotsav, Janaki Janmotsav, and Amalaki Ekadashi.
