Vinay Gauda Is Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar’s New Collector; Amol Yedge Municipal Commissioner, Minnu PM Zilla Parishad CEO

The Maharashtra government transferred several IAS officers in the state on Thursday. Accordingly, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar District Collector Deelip Swami, Municipal Commissioner G Sreekanth and Zilla Parishad CEO Shree Ankit have also been transferred. The new District Collector will be Vinay Gauda, the Municipal Commissioner will be Amol Yedge and the ZP CEO will be Minnu PM.

Deelip Swami has been transferred as the Managing Director of the Maharashtra State Seeds Corporation at Akola, and Chandrapur District Collector Vinay Gauda has been posted in his place. Gauda is a 2015-batch IAS officer. He completed his B.Tech in Computer Science from Suratkal Regional Engineering College in Karnataka.

During his two-year tenure as District Collector, Swami eased revenue services for citizens and implemented several initiatives, including facilitation of ferfar changes, redressal of complaints through helpline numbers, taking district administration to tehsil doorsteps, outreach to farmers and programmes to enhance educational quality.

Municipal Commissioner G Sreekanth, who worked to increase the corporation’s revenue over the past three and a half years, has been transferred as Director of the Jal Jeevan Mission. He will be replaced by Kolhapur District Collector Amol Yedge.

Sreekanth took charge on May 3, 2023, and focused on addressing the city’s water scarcity issues. He worked on projects to ensure adequate and regular water supply, strengthened coordination with public representatives, and contributed to bringing 200 MLD water under the new supply scheme. He also faced criticism over anti-encroachment drives for road widening. He oversaw recruitment for 125 posts and implemented ₹1 crore insurance coverage for corporation employees. Newly elected CSMC members have expressed dissatisfaction over the sudden transfers.

Amol Yedge, a native of Karad, has previously served in Jalgaon, Kalamnuri, Beed, Nashik, Yavatmal and Amravati. He studied in a ZP school and later prepared for UPSC in Delhi.

ZP CEO Shree Ankit has been transferred as Additional Municipal Commissioner of Nagpur Municipal Corporation and will be replaced by Minnu PM, who became an IAS officer in 2021 at the age of 32 and had earlier worked as a clerk in the Kerala Police.
