A drone crash in Shahapur, near Mumbai, sparked concerns amid ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan. The drone, which was found by locals on May 16, was initially feared to be linked to the rising border conflict. However, after police seized the device, it was revealed that the drone had been part of a land survey conducted by the Water Supply Department in Wada taluka.

Children playing in the village saw the drone crashing. The drone hit a tree. The villagers took the drone down from the tree and brought it near the settlement. Village Sarpanch Jeeva Bhala informed Kasara Police Station about the drone.

After the police inspected the drone, it was revealed that the drone was flown to survey the land. The water supply department is conducting a survey in Wada taluka. The contractor company Pioneer Infra had started this survey with the help of drones. However, while the survey was going on, the drone suddenly went astray and the balloons from Shahapur taluka reached Aghanwadi area. The Pioneer company has informed the police that it crashed after hitting a tree on the mountain due to a technical fault.
