Due to soil erosion induced by heavy rains along the roadside, a tanker carrying hydrochloric acid overturned on Sunday in the Raigad district's Tamhini Ghat area near Pune. Although the tanker sustained major damage in the collision, no fatalities were reported.

According to officials, the tanker lost control and overturned after part of the roadside collapsed due to continuous rain in the area. Emergency services quickly reached the spot, secured the area, and stopped the acid from spreading.

Traffic was stopped for some time as a safety measure, and steps were taken to keep people safe. Authorities are still checking the area for any environmental damage, and work is going on to clear the road.

This incident has raised fresh concerns about road safety and the condition of roads in hilly areas during the monsoon.
