In the wake of the air strikes carried out by India in response to Pakistan's terrorist activities after the Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir, air raid sirens will now be installed in Nashik city. After the Collector's Office observed in an earlier mockdrill that there were no sirens in the city, the Municipal Corporation will now install these sirens at 12 locations in the city.

Keeping in mind the possibility of an air strike from Pakistan as well, a mockdrill was organised across the country on May 7. In this regard, the District Collector's Office had written a letter to the Nashik Municipal Corporation and directed it to install sirens at important places in the city. The District Collector's Office has also given a list to the Municipal Corporation administration, clearly instructing it to install horns at 12 places.
