Ratnagiri LCB Nabs Wanted Criminal In Khed; Two Theft Cases Registered |
In a significant move to curb theft incidents in the district, the Ratnagiri Local Crime Branch (LCB) arrested a known offender from Navanagar Lavel in Khed taluka.
Acting under the instructions of Superintendent of Police Nitin Dattatray Bagate and Additional Superintendent of Police Jayshree Gaikwad, the operation was led by Police Inspector Nitin Dhere of the Local Crime Branch. On May 28, during a routine patrol in the Lavel area, the LCB team noticed a youth behaving suspiciously. Upon investigation, he was identified as Sachin Ramsahjeevan Chavan (21), a resident of Ajgani, Navanagar Lavel.

Further inquiry revealed that Chavan was wanted in two cases—numbered 111/2025 and 118/2025—registered at Khed Police Station under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. He has been booked under IPC Sections 331(4), 305, and 3(5) for aggravated theft.
Given the serious nature of the crimes, the LCB launched an intensive investigation, leading to Chavan’s arrest. Authorities are now probing whether he can provide information regarding stolen property.
The accused has been handed over to Khed Police Station for further action, and an in-depth investigation is ongoing.
