The incidence of crime in Pune is increasing day by day, with the concerning trend of criminals appearing unafraid of the police. Incidents of murder, assault, torture, and molestation are occurring over minor disputes. In a recent and tragic event, a youth was brutally beaten in Pune under suspicion of stealing petrol, resulting in his death.
As per reports, the victim, Samarth Bhagat, was fatally injured in Narhe, Pune, and succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Samarth's father, Netaji Bhagat, filed a complaint at the Sinhagad Road police station, leading to the registration of a case against four individuals. Gaurav Kute, Ajinkya Gandle, and Rahul Lohar were subsequently arrested by the police in connection with the incident.
On November 25, at approximately 6 am in the Manajinagar area of Narhe, Samarth was refueling his car from another vehicle in front of the former Deputy Sarpanch Sushant Kute's office due to running out of petrol. At that time, Gaurav Kute and two or three of his accomplices, mistaking Samarth for a thief, subjected him to severe physical assault using kicks, sticks, and a bicycle chain. Samarth sustained serious injuries and was admitted to the hospital for treatment, but unfortunately passed on Sunday during the course of his treatment.
